Wow, that's awesome

I tried to sew some large appliqués onto jerseys on my embroidery machine, but I couldn't. I may not have tried everything, but I've tried so many things. Enter Totally Stable. A little light merging on the wrong side of the knit, and voila! Knitwear (in my case t-shirts and sweatshirts) I can pull tight without stretching in any direction. (Wow!) Then I can make my appliqué, iron it, wash it, do whatever you want with it and it'll be fine. I used to have a lot of ugly lumps when pressing, but…

Pros
  • Sulky Tear-Away Stabilizers are made from non-woven fabrics that won't stretch in any direction.
Cons
  • Little things

Good for some things, not so good for others.

I'm not quite sure what I think of this stabilizer. I have used it for both hand and machine embroidery on 100% cotton, polycotton blends and polyester felt fabrics. It's a good stabilizer, but you need something on top of the hot melt to hold it in place. I've found this to be especially true with hand embroidery. HAND EMBROIDERY: From time to time, flatten the stabilizer back onto the fabric or your fabric will come off the stabilizer completely and ruin the pattern you traced and pretty much

Pros
  • Ideal for knitwear and stretch fabrics.
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Used for applique and stretchy fabrics - great stabilizer!

I bought this to help sew appliques on stretch fabric. Before using the stabilizer, the stretchy fabric would twist and move and not stay where I wanted it to be. I tried fabric glue with disastrous results. When it arrived I decided to try a small application as a test. I ironed some of these onto the wrong side of my blue fabric and the right side of my silver fabric. I cut out a diamond from the silver fabric and then sewed it onto the blue fabric. Voila! I have an application! I then went…

Pros
  • Eliminates annoying slipping and creasing of material
Cons
  • I will add later
