I was surprised to see how flimsy the product was when it arrived compared to similar products from other brands that I have used in the past. Surprisingly, the lift was better than expected. The only issue so far is that in less than a month the grips have started to break and tear with moderate use - mind you, we never pull or tug on them. This is fantastic. I'm sick of crappy foam noodles but can't bring myself to spend $60-$100 and up on those super soft, plush, durable, beautiful floats and saddles you see at the pool store. They are like a very strong material, almost reminiscent of memory foam, vacuum sealed into a waterproof fabric. Loved them in color but when we got them they were a lot stronger/tougher than we expected. 2 of the floats seemed to be sitting in a storage window and were "hardened" and faded, in fact when we opened one of the floats we grabbed the faded one by the handle and it literally fell off the float with no effort at all. Update: After writing my previous review I had the opportunity to use this saddle float and "other floats". in the sea and in the pool. I found the airhead saddle float to bounce back a little more often than its competitor; i.e. this one seems to have slightly less lift at the rear, so it folds back more easily. I suspect it partly depends on the shape (or more specifically the distribution of buoyancy) of the person sitting in the float. But for me, Airhead doesn't work that well in that…
