Versatile Sunex 2-Tone 2/3 Jaw Gear Puller for Efficient Removal Review

I was skeptical about this device but it works well. Fit and finish when components are reasonable and operation is smooth. I've only tried it on two hubs. He managed both with ease. If the lifetime guarantee is right, it's a great investment.

Use this on a 2008 Frointer 4x4 to replace both front hub assemblies. The tool box came with a few dents, which is not critical to me. The fact that the hub adapter does not match the studs actually annoyed me a bit. I got the job done, but it was still annoying.

Nice and heavy hammer. Works well with other attachments. The metal storage box is flimsy and the foam insert is unusable. The axle puller plate is not machined enough to bolt onto the axle of a Chrysler T&C van. Revain sent me three crates and all three were dented in transit. Eventually he gave up and accepted what was sent and used a hammer to close and snap the box shut.

At first I was disappointed that this is a standard Chinese made tool with a Sunex label. After intensive use I am very satisfied with the purchase. I had to mount a large air compressor flywheel onto a tapered shaft. It took me everything to hand tighten the puller, but after thinking I was going to break something, the flywheel came loose. The puller has held up well and worked under very heavy loads without the thread snagging.

Slide hammer received. I used it to pull two rear wheel bearings out of my Jeep that needed replacing. After removing the two bearings, the threads on the slide (5/8 18) were already reversed. I had to stick a hammer in a vise and use a pipe wrench to remove the puller assembly tool because of a messed up thread. The guide shaft material is too soft and easily damaged.
