Excellent fittings at a good price

These fittings are just as good as the Shark Bite brand fittings but at a much better price. I installed it about a month ago and it's holding up well. It comes with a removal tool which is a nice bonus!

  • Handy item
Cons
  • Clarity

Good to have when renovating.

Much cheaper than shark bite and does a really good job. I'm working on remodeling the toilet and kitchen sink. They help close the line but still provide water to the rest of the house. Also help install new drywall in the area. Much smaller hole to cut out for the line.

Works Grear - Pipes, Fittings & Accessories

I used one of the caps to close the toilet temporarily after removing the valve and putting in a new one. It lasted a few days with no leaks before I removed it. As suggested by some plumbers, I added some silicone grease to extend reuse life. I don't know if that's a good idea or not!

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Long Delivery Time

The current supply lines are CPVC (which will eventually be replaced by PEX); I cut the supply lines with a pipe cutter and snap these fittings open - without worrying about water in the lines affecting the bonding or additional cold weather cure time before repressurizing the lines. The water returned to the rest of the house after 5 minutes (without crawling under the house and…

Good for temporary closure but...

So they work IF you install them correctly. I say this because I once had a burst hot water pipe thinking I had it hooked up correctly. And I've found that if you're doing a temporary cap install mid-work, it's probably better to use a shark-bite valve shut-off fitting for capping, as it means you don't have to remove the cap to test the work downstream . In summary, the caps are fine, but I will most likely not be buying any more as I don't plan on leaving plexiglass or copper wires with the…
