🚲 Sunlite K847 Kross Plus Goliath – Durable 26x1.95 PAIR Mountain Bike Tires for Urban and Trail Riding Review

I bought a pair of these for my mountain bike in February. I only drive on paved roads and both tires failed the same way, the rear tire that went first blew out 4 miles from home, the front tire started moving today as shown in the picture, note the dent. I really can't trust him for another trip. I am very disappointed with the durability of these tires.

While I can't comment on mileage, strength and durability as much as I would like, I can say it's the perfect tire for my Trek Navigator 300 Hybrid for the grip I need out on the trails. I'm pretty sure they'll last, but if they're smaller than expected I'll definitely update this review.

These tires are a good compromise between city slicks and mountain tyres; They have a smooth mid-profile that doesn't rumble when going straight on paved surfaces, and a grippy enough edge for easy trail use. They are slightly narrower than most mountain bike tires but slightly wider than many city slicks.

Just received so can't comment on strength or durability but they work very well. I bike the streets to do cardio and the sleek center is great for that. But sometimes I ride trails at a nearby park and I seem to be very good at light trail riding as well. They are easier to drive on sandy ground than my old studded tires. Overall a great set of tyres.

These tires are made by Kenda. Very smooth turning and the Sdge grips are great for gravel or loose corners. These tires were very difficult to mount on Sun Rhyno Lite rims, I have installed hundreds of tires in my time as a bike mechanic and they were some of the narrowest bead boards I have ever seen. I had to use tire levers to install both beads, which always makes me nervous when it comes to tube damage. When they are on they are great tyres!

I didn't find enough time to write about their durability but they seem good, pretty easy to fit, should probably have an arrow pointing in the direction the tires are going is supposed to, don't think you need this Look at the protector to understand. The biggest problem is that the product is supposed to be sent as a pair but only one was sent and reading the reviews I saw that other people had the same problem. That almost borders on fraud. I contacted the seller and he sent me another tire.

The middle section is 25mm thick and smooth. So now it looks more like a racing bike than a monster truck. Much faster, MUCH longer coastdown time. On gravel they are fine. The knobs turn in the sand, they're fine. This is a 26 inch bike, nobody rides downhill here. The downside, in my opinion, is cheap hoops, so nylon cord and a stolen bead.
