I bought it with the idea of heating porcelain teapots. Then I read that porcelain should not be exposed to direct flame as it could crack.

Excellent teapot candle holders. I had no problems with the candle at all. It's sufficiently aerated that the candle never goes out until I decide. I like it!

Excellent customer service. It was too small for my kettle which I wanted to return, instead the company gave it to me for free. Now I use it with cups. The only complaint is that this tin thing sticks to my cups.

Tea candle flame goes out due to lack of oxygen. The item was completely unusable. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but if not, it's a gable and could be an issue if you decide to purchase this item.

Lovely little kettle. Keeps my kettle at a great temperature and I love that I can put it on the counter instead of boiling the stove to keep the tea warm. This became the focal point of my countertop along with my glass teapot.

The thing works and the kettle can get hot. If it doesn't work, it's possible that the kettle you're using is too wide at the bottom, blocking all the openings. I use mine with Hario Chacha Kyusu Maru 700ml. Only downside is the aluminum plate which looks a little dirty and scratched but at $10 it's a good buy.

is a bit big just for heating up a cup of coffee or tea, but it works. One thing I noticed after using the shorter heater is that the votives I've used haven't kept my tea warm as long as they used to. That's because I had cheap, short-burning candles that heated my tea less and less the lower the wick went. the heating is not to blame. I just bought bigger and longer burning candles =]

I love this thing! I like tea to stay hot, so I poured it into mugs from a metal thermos. The only thing that put me off the kettle was how I would heat it up. Tea light warmers are a great idea! And it really works! The tea doesn't stay as hot as a double-walled thermos, but is still a comfortable temperature to drink - hotter than just warm, if not quite hot.
