The product description is misleading. Did the product work? I do not know. I couldn't use it. This is not a standard coaxial cable gauge. I need this to extend my cable TV connection. But this product is too thin.

Everything you need to build your own antenna, wire length and gauge is just right, and you get bonus adapters depending on what's going on when connecting happened to my portable SDR radio

Well done. Adapters are a nice addition. I could use them to solve a problem I created for myself. Adapters may not be necessary for your endeavor, but in my case they were worth the price of the cable and a small additional cost.

Long story short, this cable has the same threading as every other antenna extension I've bought, period. I suppose it's partly my fault for not checking the pictures of the connectors, but if something is advertised as an antenna extender you would expect it to work as an antenna extender.

The cable in this kit is very, very thin. I've had good success with this as an antenna extension for a simple SDR-only setup, but it results in a small loss. Less than 1dB, but I could see a (small) drop in performance in the circuit with this compared to connecting directly to the antenna. I would not recommend this cable for transferring even a small amount of power.

This is NOT the standard coax cable you use to connect your old TV. SMA and RG174 must have some technical meaning I don't know but not worth going back. Don't be fooled by the price when purchasing. This review is only meant to help the next uninformed person who thinks they are getting the right thing to hook up their grandmother's TV. This is NOT the cable you need. or droids.

There are four different types of SMA connectors. There are SMA "male" (thread inside and pin "male") and female (thread outside and "male"). There is also an SMA reverse polarity plug (internal thread and socket) and an SMA RP socket (external thread with pin). If you thought you were going to use this cable to extend the length of a small vertical antenna or other antennas with an RP-SMA connector, then you're out of luck. To do this, you need two more plugs that are not included in the kit…
