Looks and works good - springs too long

I received this heat shield quickly and it installed fairly easily, but the springs are too long to connect the side clips together. It's a pretty tight fit so I may not need springs anyway, but I'll see if our local Home Depot has some smaller ones.You'll also notice a smell when it's first installed and heated up. I assume this will eventually go away.I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the springs.

Wear gloves while handling & installing ;)

Arrived fast , packaged well . They give u cloves for a reason when they deliver to u , it's not so u don't get ur hands dirty , trust me wear em , or u will have fiberglass like stuff in ur hands for days if u don't wear em while installing ;) .

Pros
  • Worked as advertised. Have V-band Precision 6266’s and used the T-3 size. Shipped quickly.

  • The product may not be suitable for high-performance vehicles that require additional heat protection

Turbo blanket - my new review

Fast delivery and very nice quality. This is my first turbo blanket, I thought it would cover the entire hot side. Other then that I'm very happy with the quality and the look.

Exactly what you pay for.

I’m giving it a 5. Because it did exactly as I expected for the money.It covers the turbo. It definitely is keeping heat down.But the springs kinda suck and the spots they hook to will likely pull apart soon.I’ve had it on for like a month though and it’s doing it’s job. Definitely not a permanent or final answer, but it’s great in the meantime considering how cheap it is.

If it doesn't fit, move the hooks.

The hooks were a little too close together, so the springs weren't putting any tension on the blanket. I just bent the pins back, removed the hooks, and moved them further back on the blanket to suit my needs. Too about 5 minutes. Fit great on my Precision 6262 turbocharger.

Works but not the best

Keeps some heat within the turbine housing but is definitely much less effective than the real expensive ones. Will get too hot to touch but still is likely under 400 degrees so its better than 1200 and a cooked hood.

Does what it's supposed to do

Fits my 300sxe pretty well. Slightly loose, but she's the job. There was a stitch already coming apart upon arrival. I used some ss bailing wire to fix. We will see how it holds up, but for the cost, im happy so far.

Worked good in my review

Very good quality for the price. Fit my 78/75 turbo great. They even included gloves so you don’t get itchy from the fiberglass however the black coating on the outside stops that from happening
