We use this in our bassinet and our baby sleeps so well for a newborn. This is safe and makes her more comfortable than sleeping alone in the bassinet. We love it!

Update: My little one lost her hair because of the material. I noticed occasional bald patches and saw on the pillow that his hair was covered with it. I stopped using it. I think it's soft. The child feels comfortable in it. The quality is doubtful. I think I was expecting something softer and thicker. It's not easy to clean. I'm nervous about my baby sleeping in it, but I only do it when I'm next to him when he's sleeping. Be careful!

I highly recommend it for newborns. We bought another brand and then realized we might need more if it needed washing so ended up buying two of these. They are a lot softer than the first brand we bought. We use her in her bassinet and another bed she sleeps in during the day. We have found that they help baby sleep on their own and be more comfortable in their bassinet. She likes to put her legs up when she sleeps, so a pillow on the bottom will help her stay up. I bought two of these. The baby isn't here yet, but I wanted to prepare beforehand and washed this thing, like all other things that will affect my child.
