AC works again! for surge protectors

Did you know that the only time we didn't use a surge protector on a camping pole we got hit? Easy to install and works great. I hope I never have to buy again but if I have to I know where to go!

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Zero

Generator dominance, secondary shore connection

Two cheap lighting contactors with sensor board to trip the correct contactor. It's not a switch at all. These are two separate contactors in one housing. I would not recommend it. I have returned this item.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Cable shorter than other options

Works best in power strips and surge protectors as expected

Unit works as expected. The installation instructions aren't as clear as we'd like. Would love to see different uses for it. I used a battery inverter as the shore power source and then line from a generator or tower as the generator input. The delay time would be useful to know how long it delays switching. The rest of the device works great. In the unloaded state, it consumes only 4 W from the mains/battery.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Fits

Great switch! Observe the tightening torque of the clamping screws!

My mobile home runs on shore power, not a generator. It turned out to be a switch. This worked great. Ease of installation. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TIGHTENED THE TERMINAL SCREWS TO THE SPECIFIC TORQUE! I didn't tighten them enough and it wouldn't switch to generator power. All instructions have cues to ensure they are properly dressed. You mean business! Otherwise it will not have enough contacts to work with!

Pros
  • Nice package
Cons
  • No
