Bought two of these water bottles. The 1st bottle (blue) works fine, the filter has no problems with the water flow. With the 2nd bottle (black), however, the lower filter membrane was impermeable. There was no water or air through this filter. The membrane was solid and required drilling three holes about 2.5 cm deep (difficult) to allow air or water to enter. Unfortunately, this precludes microscopic filtration. Let's hope the manufacturer replaces this faulty filter.

update after the trip: there is a small silicone element with a holder that fits into the air vent. Mine came out halfway. If it's in place and the straw is upside down, it shouldn't leak. The cap is an additional protection. Worked well on my trip. The water didn't always taste good, but I didn't get sick either. I received this bottle yesterday to fill a spot where I don't like water. I'm testing this today. First thoughts: - the bottle is light, the filter is the heaviest part, but overall…
