Swing Top Glass Bottles Caps Review

Bottles are ok but there are a few issues. The pen and labels that come with the kit are absolutely useless. I wrote 3 labels and as you can see in the picture the ink on the 4th label started to fade and is almost illegible. The glass of one of the bottles has a defect that makes it appear like snot or something got stuck in the bottle. The stoppers are quite flimsy and you need to make sure they are fastened in exactly the right position and not twisted.

Having served delicious Icelandic water in these bottles with every meal during a recent holiday, I thought it would be great to bring the tradition home. With real ceramic lids instead of plastic ones, this is an elegant way to provide drinking water to guests at the dinner table. They did a great job on Thanksgiving and allowed the guest to help themselves. Made a lovely gift for my companion. The bottles are great for a variety of uses including olive oil infusions etc.

These bottles just aren't suitable for brewing kombucha, they won't withstand the pressure of kombucha's 2nd fermentation and will slow it down. I bought a dozen of these and two dozen amber bottles of Yeboda and brewed with both bottles at the same time. Now I have about 4 of these left and not a single Ebod has broken. They also arrived poorly packaged and some broke in the shipping box which the seller replaced without question on their credit hence the 2nd star!

I needed bottles to saturate the 2nd Enzyme for my Kombucha. I've used screw top bottles and jars, but a lot of the carbonation comes out. I made 6 batches with these bottles and was very happy with the result. I usually only keep them for 24 hours before putting them in the fridge (no high pressure). Bottles help a lot. They go through the dishwasher after use and I haven't noticed any flaws with this set. The best peach ginger teaspoon we've tried ;)

These bottles are great and particularly suitable for any fermented drink (one that produces fizz). The lids are very reliable and the bottles are made of durable thick glass. I had to return two other sets of inferior bottles (from other companies) before ordering these.
