I have a Borner food slicer that is decades old. I decided to replace it with this new one because the old one's blades were getting duller and dumber. However, the new blades on this new Börner plane are no sharper than on my decades-old plane. This is a divorce!

This is our third Swissmar Borner V-Slicer in about 18 years. The previous 2 have long cut well. They were of the same model. This requires force to push the veggies through the blades, which is not safe at all. It's been like this since day one. I should have returned it when I could.

Bought to replace one that has been used over 10 years. Works perfectly. Lasts at least 10 years. The blades are completely blunt. I like the orange color as some things tend to tint the white I had. This is the 3rd one I've bought. Too bad I didn't buy a reservoir/bowl set. I was going to use the one that came with the one I'm trying to replace but it doesn't fit. :(

I bought one of these 35 years ago and have used it to hell and it's still sharp as ever. I wanted another one for my cabin and was so glad to find it here. Mine is original white so I bought the orange one, I LOVE this mandolin, read the instructions, the blades are very very sharp and stay sharp. Convenient storage in its own holder. I recommend it cuts veggies easily.

I love this product and have had 3 of these in many years. I use it to cook carrots but they discolor the white model. This time I decided to do this one Product to order in orange.but the product I received is white (why it got 1 star and not the 5 it deserves).I think I will have another colored slicer for another 10 years or so (when I feel the need to replace them again).

Huge disappointment. First, the mandolin shown is white and not orange as the listing states. He only lets me cut half the carrots and cripples the other half. The cuts are uneven and sloppy. The handguard can easily accidentally get caught on the blade because it doesn't slide back and forth. The plastic got stained the first time it was used so it's a little orange now. Cook's Illustrated was wrong in recommending this mandolin.

This product arrived undamaged and without incident. I really like my new V-Slicer! I have 2 other V-Slicers. One from the 70's and one from the 80's. And they still work great! I just wanted a new one. This product works great. For those who don't like this mandolin, I recommend watching some YouTube videos on how to use it properly. This is my third Bonner slicer, I've tried others and found them just as good and easy to use. I bought my first one in Germany in the 80's and after many years of use I needed a new one, now I don't know what was wrong, maybe the plastic broke.
