At work I use 3 different computers at the same time and switch between them as needed. My workplace used to be a tangle of cables, USB hubs, keyboards, mice and monitors. Now you can switch between a keyboard, mouse and monitor. It's easier, it's more fun.

, I've used this successfully with two Macs and a Windows 10 machine. I think that's enough. It only drives monitors at 30Hz, so it does weird things when your computers aren't set to 30Hz. It also randomly disables the USB inputs for my keyboard and mouse. It recovers within a few seconds, but if I were to use it for high-stakes play I'd get really pissed off. The two USB cables that came with it were DOA so I had to buy new ones. Now I look forward to the possibility of Thunderbolt 3. KVM.

This worked fine with my Dell running Windows 10, but USB doesn't work at all with my Surface Book which also runs Windows 10. The whole point is getting it, should it have. I was able to easily switch between my work and my PC, but this item just doesn't work as advertised. For reference, I get an error popup saying the device cannot be configured. Then when I go to Device Manager it is listed as "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)". I tried all options to fix this and none of them worked.

I hate writing reviews after trying a product. So I waited a few months before writing. In the 3 months I've had the Switch I've had 2 issues with the product. I contacted tech support and within a few emails my issue was resolved. The second issue I had could not be resolved and once resolved the company offered to send a new switch. One odd behavior is that the screen sometimes has a slight "fade out" and then a moment later goes black for about two seconds and then comes back again. Sometimes "loses" the monitor on PC1 as well. The screen just goes blank and reconnecting the HDMI port doesn't help, so I have to hard reset the computer to get it back, which I don't like doing. Otherwise, it switches between the work laptop and home PC as normal. I like the extra two front USB ports.

There appears to be a systemic issue with the processing of this product. Each device I tried presented different problems. The overall functionality of the product was good, but due to issues, the review score dropped sharply. Unit 1 arrived and worked fine for about a week. I have two monitors. So 2 of them came out. Use 1 for kybd/mouse + 1 mon and 2nd for another monitor. 5V USB power adapter connected to ph:850mA cellular adapter, otherwise switching was unstable. You have a mac kybd so 2*ctrl + [1,2,3,4] on the 1st switch works. I shift the 2nd manually. Sometimes monitors respond with a 2-4 second delay, but that's not a problem. Please be patient and wait for the drivers to load on each computer before proceeding to the next. The basic keyboard and wireless mouse will not work when the KVM is connected to the USB 3.0 ports. Not fast when switching between computers, but works well enough for what I need.
