Works great with hard drive accessories

SATA switch suits me. I now have 2 SATA hard drives on my desktop. One runs Windows 10, the other Windows Vista. Therefore, before turning on the computer, I select the drive with the switch. This way I can keep my old apps running on Vista since they won't run on Windows 10. Works great.

Works as advertised, what more could you want?

I've been looking for this, not even sure if there is such a thing. I bought this one and it seems to work exactly as it should. This left me scratching my head for a few minutes because there were no instructions, but it was actually pretty obvious, so I figured it all out pretty quickly. Both SATA power connectors are for power, the fact that there were two made me think twice. I use this to set up a dual boot instead of having to deal with GRUB.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great device but a simple mod needs to be made.

I have 4 of these cards and modified them all after some problems. Do it at your own risk! I am not responsible for your mods, just trying to help here. I take UV glue and apply it around the edge of the white and black connectors. I've found that the connectors can come loose very easily if they aren't attached to the board in some way. I'm sure you could use hot glue or something similar, but be careful not to block the connector. UV glue works great, see photo.

Simple multi-boot system solution

Works as advertised to selectively power SATA drives in your computer system as others have said. The selector switches are well hidden but easily accessible thanks to the fact that they are installed in the expansion card slot on the back of your PC. A great solution for a multi-boot PC without worrying about hard drive damage. The device allows you to connect two SATA power plugs to a PC power supply and turn 4 devices on and off, but I've only used it with one SATA power supply. The PSU is…

Just what I needed for my multiboot PC!

This card is well designed and crafted. There are buttons for each of the four SATA power connectors. Depressed = ON, extended = OFF. Each button has a corresponding (tiny) LED to indicate if the device is powered on. Each connector also has a high quality solid capacitor, so you can theoretically turn on the power when the computer is on (although you should actually be doing this when the computer is off). The card doesn't use PCI-E electrical connectors, so I popped mine into an unused slot…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Clarity

I keep it simple, I have a completely custom setup that costs around $3500-$4500. I don't put anything in it that I think might have faulty wiring or something worse. Almost every part of my machine is made by major PC brands (e.g. EVGA, Corsair, ThermalTake), this is actually the only exception (not including wired adapters/extenders) and I'm not afraid that this might be an issue. EDIT: Beware of losing sata connections or cables even falling out. I had my first drive cleaner when my boot SSD

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
