I received this today. The reason I'm so quick to leave feedback is because the RCA model I bought was returned. This model puts him in front of Shane. It is well built, has a very good weight and a professional look. It fast forwards, the volume is not distorted when the phone is increased. I am so excited about my purchase. don't listen for portable DVD players

Back. The volume on this thing makes you think you need a hearing aid. I bought the same DVD player when my child was 2 and now he is 6. I lived very well on an old Sylvania model for 4 years. He has spent many holidays with us and has run down a bit over the years. But after 4 long years of work he stopped playing records. Don't worry I'll go back to Revain and try to buy the SAME block! So far so good for portable DVD players

Seems to work well. Use it for about one movie a day. Fine adjustments like brightness and contrast require a small remote control (you really have to guess which buttons duplicate functions). I gave 4 stars because it doesn't have volume controls. Remote control as well as manual volume with the stop button to turn the volume down - sometimes I press the button and the volume drops quickly, sometimes the whole movie stops and I have to repeat from the beginning. Great for All Ages - Portable AV

I bought this about three months ago. Our kids aged 9 and 12 love it. They prefer to look at the TV screen because they are lying on the bed or anywhere and they can only see what they want. The price of the SDVD1030 is so cheap that I bought two. So no fights between two kids about what to watch. Everyone takes a block and looks at what they want. I bought one for my mom (she's in her 80's) who doesn't like messing around with electronics or changing the input mode on her TV. She loves it too.
