Very thin and easy to damage

Very precise. But very, very cinematic. Can be < 1/16 inch thick. Unless you have a board that is at least 8 inches wide, it will be difficult to use this 12 inch ruler. It will bend as it is too thin and wavy. For a board wider than 6 inches that can only measure one end, this is the only tape option you have left. And it's very easy to damage or bend this ruler if you accidentally drop it or put something on it, and most of the precision you want has long since evaporated with each bend…

Pros
  • Combination square for instant and perfect marking
Cons
  • No.

Good tool but weak

Wow doctor. This is a very handy tool. But my goodness, the ruler looks very solid in Revane's photos. When you come home, hey. it's weak Now it can't be 1/8th steel because the thickness will affect the accuracy of the measurements. You need thin metal. But it's slightly thicker and stronger than a sheet of foil (just a slight exaggeration). However, I like this tool. It is well made and will provide years of accurate measurements in the wood shop. You'll need a mechanical pencil to mark the…

Pros
  • Small holes and marker slots at each scale position 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64 inch
Cons
  • Poor repairability

Where have you been all my life?

Wow! It improved my accuracy the first time I used it. I do resent a little about using a mechanical pencil as I break leads all the time, but it's a small price to pay for great accuracy. It's so easy to take measurements and set a mark for using a chainsaw. And if the blade is the "wrong" size, I can easily add the 5/32 I need for the cut. It also easily slides under the tape measure for perfect square marks. It took me a while to get used to it as I was used to using a carpenter's pencil and

Pros
  • Think of it as a combination marker or gauge square that adjusts each dial position simultaneously with perfect instantaneous accuracy

  • Not bad

Fantastic design. for measuring and marking out tools

This thing is just great! If your project requires maximum precision, this will work great for you and is very easy to use. Simply attach to the trailing edge, insert mechanical pencil into desired hole, slide and mark. This can also be used to set the height on a router table or other things as there are depth marks at the end. My only complaint is that he's thin, very thin. For the price, Incra could have made it a lot thicker. Be very careful when using and storing. It bends very easily when

You'll use it when accuracy matters!

This is not a regular carpenter's tool. If you need accurate measurements, you need this tool. People notice its flexibility and suggest that it is a negative attribute. The truth is that if it were thicker or harder, there would be a lot of negative reviews. This is an example of precision. When using the thin lead required for accurate marking, lead elongation should be kept to a minimum as it is very fragile and prone to breakage. If this rule were thicker, you would lose the precision it…

But you don't really need one of them.

. That can certainly save a lot of time. I've had the 6" version for years and recently got the 12" model. Minor changes have been made to the manufacturing process. The lower one in the picture, the old 6 inch version, has all the markings clearly engraved. The 12" looks embossed or stamped which makes the lines a bit thicker. Both work great for drawing lines exactly where you want them, which is obviously their purpose. I used them with a pointed wand for drawing from Lines on aluminum and…

Didn't expect a precision ruler to be so brittle and deformed

Incra have an excellent reputation for manufacturing quality tools and accessories. So, when I was looking for a marking ruler, I did not hesitate to check the products on offer. I really only needed the tool to mark about 1" from the edges of my work pieces, so I originally considered the 3" marking rule, but ended up going with the 6" version to get mine to protect future investment a little. Pros: When the rule was introduced, I was happy to see that the mounting hardware that came with the…
