Does what it's supposed to. I have a tarp on my truck, a roof rack on it and I'm off-road. Low profile and unobtrusive compared to competing designs. Relatively easy to mount on a production truck. I made some previous body modifications to my truck and had to deal with them during the installation process.

I noticed the gap between the tailgate and the platform at the top widened after installing the truck cover in my 2012 full bed taco. Using a ratchet strap I leveled it and then installed it and fixed the problem of the bed bending outward. Also adds more dismantling points for load securing.

Product arrived, came out with all the tools needed, fitted it to my 2015 rig in about 45 minutes including the time to remove the broken one bolts . Don't over tighten the top screw, I learned that the hard way. The hardest thing I had was aligning the top nut and bolt as at least on my 2015 there is a bracket in the taillight cavity that sits up front and blocks the view.

I saw this product advertised as Tacomas 05-15 but after reading the Q&A and reviews that it was good for 2017 I got it bought. top hole to use factory bolt and hole. The bracket does not reach this height. If that suits you you can drill 3 side holes and screw them on without using a top link but I needed a perfect fit so I went back and bought the right one. The part number for this (05-15) is TCS-48675. . The correct part number for 2016+ is TCS-48676.

Aside from being a little pricey they are fantastic. My bed has already started to fall apart and once installed everything holds up without further unpicking the bed's seams. If you have a trunk or body on your truck and you drive off-road, I highly recommend installing them. It took about 20 mins to assemble with a hammer drill. Be careful when replacing the top screws, don't overdo it, they break very easily.

Didn't want it for the price but once installed they are very solid and the KEY seller was basically a flat base for me.
