2000 Toyota Tundra Perfect fit

Perfect fit for my 2000 Toyota Tundra. Watching 3 different YouTube videos was great prep so I didn't forget to transfer my original lock to the new lock which is not included in this set. Imagine the inconvenience of carrying another key with you. The transfer is a relative no-brainer. Only time will tell how durable this piece will be and I will update this review accordingly.

The body of the door lock needs to be modified to hold the lock securely.

The latch handle works great on my 2001 Toyota Tundra. I had to use a small hacksaw to widen the slot where the C clip is held in place. As before the mod, the C-clamp didn't go deep enough to hold the lock. With a little bit of sawing I was able to widen and deepen the groove that the C clamp goes in so that it went deep enough to secure the lock.

Potential spring clip groove problems

Overall a good replacement but not perfect. The outside doesn't exactly cover the old area. (see photo) And I had a problem with the area around the key switch. It comes with a spring clip to hold the glass in place but the grooves were not cut properly so the spring clip does not slide far enough into the groove for it to work and hold the glass in place. (see photos) I had to use a small drill to drill out some of the plastic to allow the spring clip to fit properly for installation…

arrived on time and was the product I expected.

Replaced 2003 Tundra trunk handle that broke. Installation was very easy (requires a T30 Torx bit and a 10mm socket). WD40 is used to clean the latches on each side. Issues also noted in other reviews: lighter plastic material and thin wire used to attach the locking mechanism to the handle. I reused the original Toyota wire to secure the lock. The included wire did not hold the locking mechanism in place. The old cable worked great. Tailgate can be easily opened after installation. The price…
