good barbs, bad clamps

hose barbs work great. I had to connect two coolant hoses together and they were perfect. Brackets are junk. Don't waste time trying the clamps as they are of typical import quality and can be easily removed.

Pros
  • barb fittings
Cons
  • legacy model

The sizes of the spikes are all stupid.

Sorry folks, barbs don't catch at all with standard 1/4" braided soda line, and same thing with 1/8" reducer on the barb side for 1/8- Inch Silicone Cord ID . The supplied stainless steel clamps are actually designed for 3/4" hose lines. You, 5 stars for you!

Great solution for broken and leaking water hoses

These are ideal for fixing leaks in the middle of water hoses. Simply cut off the leaking portion of the hose and insert the two cut ends into the spikes on the adapter. As long as you buy the correct size hose, it should fit perfectly. Tighten each hose clamp over the barb and you're done. I've fixed three separate leaks on my hoses and each time there were no leaks the first time. The clamps can catch on something when you pull the hose, but wrapping them in tape will help smooth them out…

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Some little things
