We bought these to allow wife and I to communicate with the support of our van and they work great for that purpose. The sound quality is good and seems well made for the price. Can't comment on the range as we've never used them for anything other than supporting our RV, but to that end they've virtually eliminated any 'scuffling' when trying to get back to our camp or storage area!

We ordered these walkie-talkies so the kid could get rid of us while cycling around the neighborhood. We feel safe when he's with his friends. Bought these for rough terrain. My husband and I drove different cars and wanted to find a way to communicate in heterogeneous service areas. Those walkie-talkies were just awful. If our cars weren't parked next to each other, we wouldn't be able to communicate. What if another car comes between us? No way.
