Terrible. Had 2 latches just to put the lid on the box. Now I have a cutout to put these things in and I messed up my jewelry box that I made. Just terrible quality.

Nice little hinges for small projects. The finish is good. The screws are a bit short but the head fits snugly in the hinge to give a neat look. The hinges are a bit tight, but should work softer in use.

Uses two of these hinges on a hard maple drawer lid. Box lid 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 6/16 inches thick. It can be assumed that this is the limit for two such loops. I have bought them for several jewelry boxes I make. They fit perfectly in a 1/4 inch diameter, radius groove and are snug when the hinge is fully open. The screws were not included, but you can buy #2 brass screws in the length you need from the store. You need to drill a pilot hole and I prefer to screw in the steel screw first and then reinstall the brass screw to avoid damaging the screw head or risking breaking the brass screw.

Screw heads break off too easily. Some of them need to be filed to keep the sides flat and the corners clean. When I first used them I had to rearrange the hinges a few times - trial and error to get them working properly and the annoying stuffing required to cut the groove (this might be an issue in developing my skills ). . I'm a carpenter and bought it to learn in my beginner drawers. The supplied screws protrude over the hinge after assembly and this will cause the hinge to fail and thus the box lid to close completely. The solution I found was to use a countersink bit to drill out the hinges a bit. After that, your loop can close completely.
