electronics/sensors? Only use OEM or brand name

This sensor scared me to death going into the red zone on the temp gauge until I realized it was stuck at max and my van was not overheating. I bought a sensor from a dealer for twice the price of this one, it works fine.

Got a bad review for sensors

I was glad the product was delivered and received quickly. It was well packed. However, I installed it on my '94 Chevy Cavalier and the scale peaked. I disconnected and checked that everything is connected properly. I drove into town (about 30 miles) and bought one at an auto parts store. I don't get too upset about it because sometimes you get a lemon. For like $6 or $7 I won't bother with a refund. I just wrote this to let someone know about checking things out.

Didn't work on my Pontiac

This is one of three aftermarket temperature sensors I bought for my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. All three had the same problem. They registered the sensor on a cold engine, I tried two different aftermarket brands before buying AC Delco which worked great. They are not easy to replace on GM 3.8 engines as they are located below the engine neck and exhaust manifold. I should have spent the extra $10 and gotten a genuine GM-AC Delco part from the start.
