WORKS on right skin

Wonderful tool. But he has a trick. You will need at least a 2 inch hole in the center of the leather for it to roll. I found a YouTube video that explains how to use this tool. It took me a few minutes of frustration, but once the hole got bigger and I had the leather thread showing it was twisting, I got some laces. Success largely depends on your skin. Maybe it's not you or the instrument. Really subtle things seem to be a problem. Leather that's really uneven in thickness is also quirky…

Pros
  • Power

Cool tool!

I love this tool! Tried using it on oil tanned leather, no luck. Whether it was leather or a blunt blade I don't know. When I used it on thick, tough leather (around 5-6 oz) the results were much better. I would suggest using a new blade for every 6-8 inch piece of leather. After you cut the first square, flip the blade over for a fresh tip that can be used to cut the next square, extending the life of each blade. Haven't tried thinner vegetable tanned leather yet. Some reviews said watch…
