Professional crafttool awl not worth it

Bought this in brown leather hoping it would be $24. After 1 session the blade broke. I wasn't too aggressive with it at all. I used it 1/2 in leather but maybe it was too much. Not worth the price in my opinion.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Don't bring CS Osborne into battle with awls

I've tried CS Osborne before and Crafttool Pro is just better. It's made in Japan (they tend to make the best sewing tools), looks like stainless steel, and slides easily on 8-ounce tool leathers, while the CS Osborne barely slips through without breaking (which it eventually did). Very ergonomic, well made, fun to work with. Speeded up my saddle stitch significantly.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
