The bevel cutter does a good job with little difficulty if used carefully. Then polish for a professional look.

Read the tool specifications carefully so that you do not buy a tool that does not meet your actual needs, as you may be familiar with a different tool size.

Very rough action out of the box. After sharpening and polishing both the bottom and groove (the rouge coated leather strap worked well) it cuts much smoother. Edit: I've now switched to SLC bevel cutters. Far superior. Instead of having a flat bottom, they have a rounded groove that makes it much easier to follow the edge accurately. They are sharp and stay sharp longer than a tandy beveler.

Cuts very well. I'm new to leatherworking so I'm learning as I go. I wanted some tools that wouldn't break the bank in case I don't feel like doing this type of work often. It was a good buy. Very smooth when working in wet weather. The cut is also very dry. Come with a protective coating on the blade, lots of feedback on this mess. Pick it up with your thumbnail and move on. I used the cut I shaved off to trim the inside edge to keep it sharp.
