I use this tool to repair plastic crap rake fingers. You really have to be sure to heat and melt both surfaces. This tends to be a bit tricky, as one surface cools a lot while you heat the other. I continue to work on successful technology.
This isn't the cheapest plastic welder, but it's not the most expensive either. I've read many reviews on the cheapest Revain model (about $20 less than this model) and many have said that the tips bend with use. I decided to see if this one could be a little better. I've had good results repairing my son's kayak, melting quite a bit of plastic in the process. The good news is that it worked well and the tip didn't bend at all. It's still a fairly cheap tool, it might be worth shelling out…

The welder works well and the temperature control is great. Allows you to dial it in and not overheat the material. I know this kit is sold to fit bumpers but different attachments would be a great addition. I will most likely be making some custom attachments to work on smaller and narrower parts. Used it to repair several interior parts on a 30 year old car. The higher power really helps with thicker material and allows for a smoother finish after blending the sides of the crease.
