A small price to pay for safety and comfort.

If you want to get straight to the point quickly, here it is: I don't work on my laptop without it. Period. Two years ago my laptop literally melted (chronic overheating not only melted my power cord but also my motherboard). It was officially broken. When I bought my newest laptop, the first accessory I invested in was this cooling pad. Well, here's the amazing part. I have an Area 51 m5550 and with this VERY small investment it has been running successfully for over a year WITHOUT EVEN…

When it works, it works great.

I am ordering this product for the second time. The first time it stopped working about six months later. The power cord at the base, as others have written, is very thin and shorted. I'll admit that while I'm not rough with my electronics, it may have been me that bought a second one. I figured I could keep the old one as a backup just in case and have a cable to use with any of them. Well, that theory was dispelled when I got a new one. I warn you, this is not the one in the photo. This is a…

Keeps my knees cool! c Cooling pads and external fans

My laptop is not overheating or not working; It's just too warm to use comfortably on your lap for long periods of time while plugged in. It's slightly cooler on battery power, but still uncomfortable. I took a risk that it would help and it paid off. This item not only keeps my knees warm but also cool. The name "Chill Pad" is no exaggeration in the name of this wonderful device. The chill pad is a bit small for my fairly large laptop (Dell Lattitude D800), but still works great. It's very…

  • There are more interesting options.

I'm not a techie or computer savvy. Like many of you, I depend on my computer for work and personal life and am just looking for something that works and doesn't cost a fortune (for my notoriously hot Sony Vaio; size 12.5" x 9.3"). The Targus Chillpad was the first cooler I ever bought so I was happy because I had no comparison. until I used someone else's cooler and realized what I was missing. And I bought it right away - $10 less and 10 times better. Here's the thing: Targus Chillpad gets…
