Description of 🎙️ Tascam TM-2X X-Y Stereo Microphone for DSLR Cameras with Enhanced SEO

The X-Y pattern and two mic capsules are ideal for capturing a true representation of the sonic atmosphere. Easily handles high sound pressures up to 120 dB SPL, and a two-stage output level adjustment switch ensures compatibility with a variety of cameras. Setup is as simple as connecting the cord from the TM-2X to the camera's mic input jack allowing you to add high-quality audio to video. Included shoe adapter can be attached to the camera accessory shoe, and tripod mounting threads enable attachment to a camera tripod. An on-board low-cut filter can be switched on and off to cut out low-frequency background noise when needed. The floating support structure underneath the mics absorbs unwanted handling and mechanical noise, aided by the included noise isolation arm. Wind noise can be reduced by simply covering the mic unit with the included windscreen.

Audio is audio or not?

In my 16 years as a producer, director and writer in film and television, my production team uses the best equipment in the business. Whether it's TV news, a documentary, or a theatrical production, poor audio can ruin everything, including your career. No matter how fantastic or good the picture quality is, the sound speaks volumes for a quality package and buying unknown audio brands or affordable non-professional gear will let you down. Warranty! For the past 10 years, Tascam has been the…

A must for stereo recording with DSLRs

I preferred the built in mic on this Rode VideoMic Go because I needed a stereo mic for voice and ambient recording. Having worked with the Tascam DR-40, I know very well the quality of condenser microphones and their sensitivity when capturing sound. This microphone is also sensitive. I recommend attaching the mic to the extension first as it isolates the mic from the noise of the camera motor when focusing or zooming. With the manual microphone level setting on my camera, the microphone picks

Compact, high-quality recording microphone.

I bought this as a REPLACEMENT for my Rode stereo microphone. The selector lever broke and the battery compartment door also broke. But the trick was that the battery compartment door fell off and was lost. The mic is needed to record my daughter's performances and her college prep videos. This is a microphone system that attaches to a hot shoe. The connector goes to the audio input, and there are two sensitivities: high and low. The cover allows you to reduce the wind during outdoor…

Pleasant sound improvement

Item: Arrived quickly and well packaged. Love the fact that this mic doesn't need its own battery! It uses "Plug-In Power" to get the power it needs directly from the camera. Just connect it to a camera that supports plug-in power (must conform to JEITA CP-1203A standard). Many newer DSLRs and HD camcorders now use this protocol. TASCAM TM-2X has a nice design, good build quality with built-in shock absorber. The Tascam comes with a nice extension cord and a fluffy "dead cat" windshield. The…

The recording quality is good, especially if you use a decent preamp. But it's no better than mics that cost $20 to $50 less. There are a number of issues that I immediately decided I couldn't leave. Once I solved it in the field. Pointing at a secondary RF source hundreds of feet away will cause digital noise to appear on the recording from the source. It's inevitable - and it tells me that the electronics inside aren't adequately protected from RF noise, which is everywhere humans are except…

Exceptional sound, great for high SPL but still sensitive enough

I wanted to use my Nikon D5300 for video and photography. In particular, I wanted to use it to record live musical performances. However, my first attempts at using the camera's built-in stereo microphones were frustrating to say the least. The in-camera microphones had a very narrow frequency response with a noticeable notch in the middle, and almost no stereo separation. I knew I had to achieve more. I did quite a bit of research and initially thought I'd go with a gun stereo mic, but after…

Great video mic! NOT just for DSLRs!

I use this microphone on my Sony HDR-XR 500, HDR XR-500V and HDR-CX700 cameras. Amazing difference in sound quality, especially for soccer games! On the weekends I shoot a video for a study group at a nearby high school. In the stadium I use a microphone with low sensitivity. In the gym for momentum, I set the mic to high sensitivity. Works like a dream. I don't need the rod yet, but it looks like it won't be too hard to break. I definitely want TASCAM to build the best hand! I'm trying to…
