Too bad I couldn't read it properly, they are wooden sticks. I thought they were plastic. Kids still love to play, but I think the plastic ones fall better and move around more easily, making play more fun.

Seriously, don't buy these. It is better to buy plain wooden skewers and paint them. You can't use them to play a real game like when we were kids. They have: blunt ends, wood fibers hanging from them, and cheap paint (will likely bleed when wet).

Was hoping they would have pointed ends like they used to. Trying to move sticks with blunt ends close together just doesn't work. Also, there were no rules of the game. I guess like everything else these days you have to google it.

The kids in my third grade didn't know about sticks or jacks. I kept doing these two activities growing up in the 50's and 60's. I bought these to keep the kids entertained in addition to the board and card games we play when the weather doesn't let us outside. They love to play with sticks and they work great!

I bought cartridges because I wanted to bring back the nostalgia and enjoyment of the game. I also wanted to introduce him to my grandson. However, these pickups didn't look like the original pickups I played with as a kid and they were overpriced. The ends of the pickups were blunt. I think this was done for security reasons; but it completely changes the ability to maneuver the racquets. I would have sent them back if I didn't want to go through changes for it.
