Fridge thermometers not accurate

Taylor Precision Products Classic Series Large Thermometers (Freezer/Fridge) All 3 read different temperatures: 42 (too hot), 32 (too cold) and 36 (just right). Unfortunately, life isn't a children's song, and that's unacceptable.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Very expensive

"Accuracy you can trust, " right?

We bought two, but it wasn't until I unpacked them that I noticed a four degree difference! is it accurate How to find out If one is correct, which one? When Taylor sent this production order to China, did anyone think there should be standards? These are fridge/freezer thermometers. Fridge must be kept at 40 or below! After putting them side by side in our fridge, the difference is six degrees! How do you know if it's 40 or 46 or 34 or ?

Don't waste money.

That sucks! Don't buy this. I bought based on reviews of our new fridge to make sure it was cold enough. It showed 46 degrees which was too hot for a fridge. A repairman came to "fix" it, and it turned out that he was wrong by six degrees. As soon as he saw the thermometer I had, he said no, I couldn't. He pulled out his electric and it was right where it was supposed to be. This seller doesn't allow returns so I'll just throw it away. It's not about cost, it's about principles. Dissatisfied.

Highly accurate, best thermometers and timers

I bought this unit when I suspected I would have problems with the temperature in the fridge. It's always good to have one of these monitoring your fridge's temperature to help spot problems. It turned out that the refrigerator does not keep a constant temperature, so we had to call the master. He noticed that those temperature readings weren't very accurate, but when he used his fancy digital thermometer, this temperature reading was spot on. He was impressed and so was I. I would highly…

Readings 5-10 degrees or more below

This thermometer is not accurate. It indicates at least five degrees below zero. That's no good when you're trying to tell if the food is going bad. Was hoping for an accurate way to check fridge and freezer temps. This thermometer reads below zero in my fridge when nothing is frozen in the fridge, and even on the warm side if anything. Let's throw this article away because it's garbage. It also says that the freezer in my 28 year old refrigerator runs at minus 30 degrees. I do not think so…

Unhappy customer for thermometers & timers

We bought this thermometer because we had a problem with spoiled food in our fridge. When we put it in the fridge we couldn't get any readings below 50+ degrees. Because of this, we contacted the service center. It turned out that this thermometer read a lot more than the actual temperature of the fridge. Yes, there was a part that needed replacing, but that wasn't based on the readings we got from this fridge. Master said that this is a very bad product. Even after the repair, the thermometer…

Not sure if it's accurate

I'm not sure if this thermometer is accurate and can't be recalibrated. I think it reads 2 or 3 degrees colder than it really is. On the other hand, this thermometer reads either warmer or cooler at certain times. To check its accuracy, I bought a second fridge thermometer from my grocery store and it reads 2 or 3 degrees warmer than it actually is, and it has no way to recalibrate either! Why did I bother to buy it?! I'm such an idiot! I base these findings on placing thermometers next to…

Good but not GREAT for kitchen utensils and appliances

I bought two of these to use in two different fridges. I like their big dial. It is very easy to read at a glance. I got one of the two, straight to the money with my digital thermometer. I have tested my digital thermometer on a Thermoworks K-pair sensor and know that it is accurate to the degree. The second block reads about 4 degrees higher than it should. I can use it knowing it reads 4 degrees, but the 4 degree difference in the fridge makes a big difference since you only have an 8 degree

Pros
  • Done
