Just works.! - Thermometers and timers

I bought one of these about thirty years ago and when it broke I couldn't find another and was very unhappy with what I ended up buying. Now I've found it again and I'm satisfied.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Old better than new

The old model is much easier to read! Otherwise, the tried and tested control takes place through the glass oven doors. Too many lines too close to follow. My 20 year old finally bit the dust

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • poorly thought out

10 DEGREES TOO HIGH. NOT RETURNED DUE TO DEFECTS.

This product reads 10 degrees higher than other thermometers. Not exactly. The product also came with a weird hard white ball stuck to it and white flakes inside the packaging. Possibly defective. Item cannot be returned. Avoid.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Can't remember

Needed to reach safe yeast temperature

I was very dissatisfied with this after I bought it. It takes quite a long time to register an indication with yeast. I think it's more for meat than yeast. It's ok and I still use it so it's not that bad. Only slowly!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Repair

Don't trust the number.

I've had my last non-digital cooking thermometer for over 20 years and needed to replace it with a new one that I could read again. It is impossible to imagine that the number was correct for so long. This thermometer also has a shield over the glass tube for added protection.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Thin

Prefer these over digital or spring powered versions

As mentioned, this is hand wash only. All the bad reviews are because people broke them in the dishwasher. They are much more accurate (and simpler) than the spring or digital versions. I haven't had any luck with digital running for more than a few months.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Concise instructions

This is the one. for kitchen and dining room

I used to have one but the glass tube wasn't protected so I dropped it and broke it. After a series of those round non-detachable thermometers that all ended up being washed and ruined I finally searched and found this one. It's just great. You can stick it in a roast or whatever, if you put it in the oven you can wash it (but don't use the scratch on guide) and the glass is protected by metal. The only thing preventing it from being perfect is the guide that was just drawn. My old one had a…

Pros
  • Good product for the price

  • I'm nervous

Great thermometer but hates steel wool cleaners!

This is hands down the BEST meat thermometer. I have no idea. I've tried others and ended up with disasters on my dinner table. Since I bought this thermometer, cooking roasts has never been so easy! And - I cook all roasts (pork, beef, etc.) on an outdoor gas grill with amazing results. Hm. Then why did I order a second one? Well, I got into a cleaning frenzy and decided I needed to clean up any greasy splatter that was building up on the thermometer. I took a soap steel pad (Brillo) in front…

  • Easy to use

Great product!: Meat

I've had about a dozen digital and analog meat thermometers ranging from $10 to $200 and this thermometer is the best of them all. This glass thermometer shows readings very quickly. It can remain in the meat during cooking, and that's for sure. Glass thermometers have fewer calibration problems than any other type of thermometer. The problem with glass is that it's usually fragile and slow. Taylor did an excellent job encasing the thermometer in a stainless steel case, meaning it's protected…

Pros
  • There's something to it

  • Minor issues
