Great product for several reasons 1) Unlike most competitors, the power supply is integrated meaning you have one less power supply to deal with 2) The power cord is a standard version that can easily be replaced with an inexpensive one Replacement if the original is lost. 3) The power switch is on the side instead of the top, which means there is no danger of turning the device on or off when you put something on it, such as a phone. Ruined my Seagate hard drive

I was happy with the easy install but it doesn't matter as this case has stopped working - it actually ruined my drive. This Seagate hard drive was in perfect condition before installation. After that, all I got was a perfect click of death. As far as I can tell, the drive is now completely non-functional. I'm assuming based on other reviews that I received a faulty case block and that's what caused it to happen. But still: Thank you Tccmebius for toasting my journey.

Good way to use your old drive

I usually have a few old drives and am always looking for new ones in old old computers. I used this enclosure to connect an old full size SATA drive and another laptop drive. They come with a power adapter, so I bought a USB hub and connected all my drives to my computer through one connection. You open the top and plug the drive into the connector. The device comes with screws. Once the drive is connected, it can be secured to the case with screws. You can put one of the 4 screws in a 2.5"…
