I purchased this carrier for a recent flight with my dog, but it was a complete waste of money. The carrier is flimsy and the mesh windows ripped easily leaving my dog vulnerable. The only positive WAS the size, which was big enough for my dog to move around in. Save your money and invest in a better quality carrier from a trusted brand in pet supplies....

This pet carrier is perfect for traveling with your furry friend and is also airline approved. It's lightweight easy to clean, and has plenty of ventilation. This backpack is ideal as hand luggage. But for hiking with a pup - not really. It is very well built and the design details (looks, build and finish) are top notch. But it's really not intended for practical use when hiking. For example: the leash inside is at the top near the back. The lid hinge is also located there.
