Very stiff for avionics

I bought this as a replacement for the same make and model I had before. The ear pads have been redesigned and don't fit too close to the ears, causing a lot of noise. I have to turn up the volume on the plane. The cable is REALLY stiff and constantly gets in the way. I hope it breaks My previous one was much more comfortable

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great upgrade for 750

Good headset, nice improvements over the old 750 I've had for 20 years. And the noise-cancellation is just about enough on a large plane. It can't be when you're in a turboprop. And very good for the price. It doesn't support Bluetooth, has no amplification, doesn't have multiple inputs. It's just a well made, lightweight and comfortable headset that cancels out just enough noise for me.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Active noise cancellation works "too well ".

The headset is not bad. Audio reception is clear and crisp, but ANC works too well. So good that I can hardly hear the other crew members in the cockpit. This somehow reduced the loudness of human voices. With the ANC switched off, ambient noise seems a bit louder due to the shape of the ear cups. So now I only use one ear with ANC on to hear RT and my right ear for the cockpit. Can Telex offer advice on the correct use of this particular headset?

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • vulgarity

Failed in less than 6 months!

Terrible product - absolutely not recommended! I'm a commercial Boeing 737 pilot who was flying my trusty old Telex 750 for about 6 years when the wires eventually frayed and failed. When I was looking for a replacement I found a Telex Airman 8 that appeared to reinforce the areas of wire that were failing on my original purchase. My first impressions of the Telex Airman 8 were positive and I feel that the Airman 8 has minor improvements over the old 750 series. However, after only 6 months of…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No pistol
