Great battery but can have trouble charging when freshly used

Great batteries and have been using them a lot for many months. There seems to be an issue with the charger that reads some batteries just as badly when you try to charge them once they're dead. I found that when my charger indicated the battery was low, I had to leave them overnight before attempting to charge them. I have several chargers and all of them had this problem. By simply leaving them overnight, I was able to charge them normally the next day. Aside from that weird "bad battery"…

    It's good when it works.

Questionable failure rate. 8 batteries bought, 1 battery defective after 2 discharge and charge cycles. That is 12.5% of the failures. Is it acceptable? I would say no Fully charged batteries last longer than traditional alkaline batteries, so the trade-off can be worthwhile. Instead of buying 16 batteries from Walmart for $24, which is 2 charge cycles, I bought 8 tenergies from Amazon for $46, with one battery dead. This dead battery costs about $6. Just note that this item is non-returnable…

Battery tests out of the box

I just ran four Tenergy Centura D cells through my 'universal' smart chargers (Dlyfull Pro and PS Power DC5000 which share the same design) which have a test cycle. discharges the batteries at 500mA and charges them at 2000mA. The results for the four battery capacities in mA are as follows: 8171, 8703, 9052 and 9189. Most importantly, they are all measured above the typical 8000mA capacity quoted. Batteries from not many manufacturers do this. The bad thing is that the capacity consistency…
