🔧 TeraFlex JK Rzeppa CV Factory Replacement Kit (Part # 1744014) Review

Excellent restoration of my stock driveshaft after my 2.5" jack ripped it off the road. Applying lube was painful and he was a lot tighter than me. But after rocking the pieces back for about 20 minutes and for the fourth time after covering them like in the installation video, it finally came loose enough that I was sure everything was covered.

Easy installation, solved the front driveshaft angle problem without having to replace the driveshaft. Expect the installation to take around 4 hours, with the hardest part being loading the bearing grease. I would also recommend having an impact wrench handy to help with removing the skid plates and driveshaft. You will also need a good torque wrench.

The exchange took 2.5 hours, but hopefully everything will be fine for a while. FOLLOW THE VIDEO on their website for installation. It's a bit of a hassle to install a long hex head, but it's a necessary evil lol. Getting the old shaft off the flange was a bit of a chore, but the air chisel hit worked like a dream after 45 minutes when the hammer wasn't good. Even after it was well lubed it wasn't particularly smooth so maybe it needs a bit of wear for that, it's pretty tight. I'll find out…

The rubber boot on my factory CV joint broke so I replaced it with this CV joint. The hardest part for me was just removing the driveshaft. The U-joint bolts have been provided with many screw locks at the factory. Once I removed the drive shaft, the factory constant velocity joint slipped right after removing the snap ring and constant velocity boot clamp. During my final ride on the Metal Masher in Moab last year, I began to hear the distinctive clicking sound of the rear drivetrain hinge. After a bit of research and googling, I found an issue with the constant velocity joint on my front driveshaft. Since I have an elevated JK, this is a fairly common issue with a more acute angle on the shaft. I did a bit of research and decided I wasn't ready to shell out a few hundred bucks on a secondary wave just yet (if/if the stock fails, I'll be in the…

Rewriting my review. I originally gave 5 stars. This connection lasted almost a year and a half. It worked fine while it lasted. Some time after installation, the tape came off and some grease squirted out. I put on a new strap, no big deal. Before purchasing I contacted Teraflex because I couldn't find this part anywhere. They replied to me almost immediately explaining how the item was updated and how great it will be and how fantastic the warranty etc. is. Wow I thought amazing customer…

This kit fixes a bug that Fiat/Chrysler should have fixed in the first place, specifically on the front driveshaft to the transfer case . Very little clearance for the trunk clamp to prevent chafing and premature trunk destruction when driving on uneven surfaces/roads. The Terra Flex replacement is great, but it's not an easy decision and won't make removing the front driveshaft any easier for any other type of repair. I replaced the hinge on my 2015 2 door and it's just for the soft mechanics.
