Breaks with too much force.

Sounds obvious; although I don't recall this happening on the previous ones; but they can and will break with too much force. In this case, the cylindrical part is made of non-ferrous alloy which, unlike screws, passes the magnet test but they are expected to be strong. Value for money seems like a pretty good buy. No real current flows through them, but they're only rated for 5 amps, so there shouldn't be any problems. Go for 20 amps if you expect to get close to the 5 amp rating.

Inexpensive to buy but cheap

This works great with 16 AWG solid wire or larger. It can also work well if the ends of the wires are fitted with lacing grommets. However, if you want to use it with strands, this is not the product for you. Maybe everything is fine with a larger caliber like 16-14, but with a smaller one the screw just eats the copper and makes a mess. It may still work, but it won't look professional. Also, the screws tend to fall out if they are unscrewed all the way, which is pretty easy to do with these…

  • Some difficulties

Bought to connect wires in the terminal block but after tightening the screws. Wires kept falling out of the terminal block. I would put it back thinking I missed the wire and same thing. It was only after removing the latch completely and examining it closely that I discovered that the bushings inside the terminal block are made of thin metal that just falls apart with any pressure. This could cause a fire if the wires come out of the terminals and arc. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! DO NOT BUY THIS…

Does the job but is flimsy and breaks easily

Definitely made for the price. The brass is paper thin and you must be extremely careful when turning the set screw to avoid tearing through the bottom of the connector. See picture (sorry my camera focused on the table and not the connector but you can still see what's going on). I have a bounce rate of around 25% right now, which is annoying, but it's not game over. I've never had this and have been using these things for years. So: not the best, probably better to avoid and buy something…

Very small - not very durable

Have I used it? Yes. Would I buy it again? no The strips are very small and the plastic is soft and flexible. The screws are so small I had to use a jeweler's screwdriver. No "pressure plate", you have to force the screw into contact with the wire to hold it in place with 16 and 18 gauge wire (and some smaller ones) many times. I would tighten them only to find that the wire had slipped out from under the screw. The "mounting holes" are also very small, even the #4 screws appear to be larger…

Hazardous Junk

The terminal blocks grip the wire with enough force to hold the wire securely in place. This requires the bolt to bite into it with quite a bit of pressure and the block itself to withstand that force. This product does not meet either of these requirements. First the bolts are cut so that the bolt must be driven deep into the block before the threads start to bite. This means that the available wire space is drastically reduced. Second, the screws and threaded hole in the block's strip easily…

Used in Skyjack Control Box

I've used them to build some new Skyjack scissor lift control boxes. They were a little larger than the branded ones I've used before but worked just as well. I may have ordered a slightly larger size than another brand I've bought before, but the size and number of terminals were the same. I installed 14 gauge stranded wire and 20 gauge stranded wire and the system uses 24 volts and low current. I'd say it's a little tight putting 14 gauge and 20 gauge wire together in the same terminal hole…

This is just an awful product, believe the reviews!

I couldn't believe the negative reviews when I read them. I thought it was a proven sound design so I bought the 3A version. I regret the purchase and regret trying to work with it. Firstly the other negative reviews are true, they will break if you reduce them to what I consider "normal". Therefore, to avoid this, all you have to do is "squeeze" them. because if you don't, i've noticed that two things will happen. If you overtighten, the screw inside will cut the stranded wire. I've tried to…
