Durable, protective and cheap!

I often ride expensive bikes, so I like to have lots of locks to protect them. This lock is less than $13 and seems to be as well or better made than some of the other locks that have cost me up to $50. The chain looks like a standard steel link chain and is fabric wrapped for easy wearing. I have tried plugging several non-electric cutting tools into the circuit with no damage. Obviously a power tool cuts right through, but there's really no way to protect yourself against that. The locking…

Protects the wheels perfectly

Let me start by saying that I believe in using multiple locks every time I park my bike in a public place. I use a U-lock for the main body of the bike and I've used cheap flimsy wire locks around the wheels. I didn't like those cheap wire locks so I looked for a good flexible chain lock. The Terra Hiker Chain Lock is just the ticket. So far so good, good for sport

The main problem is that the chain may not be thick enough. I'm used to using a chain that is at least 10 mm thick on my bike. Since I'll be cycling through Manhattan, I'll have to use thicker chains. I once used a cable lock in Manhattan. Then one afternoon in Rockefeller Center my bike was stolen. The ropes are so fragile. Thieves can cut it open and steal the bike in seconds. I was a little concerned if this would happen when using chains less than 10mm thick. But I wanted to use a…

The best bike lock I've ever had!

I'm a college student and last year I started cycling to and from campus. I had three locks when I was in college and this one worked significantly better than the other two I had. All of my previous locks (Bell and OnGuard brands) were frozen and stiff and I had to cut them off. spend my money I leave my bike outside 90% of the time and the freezing and wet weather here ruins the locks. However. - this lock didn't seal at all, it still opens as easily as if it were new! - The combination took…
