Good for what it is

The user interface is bad but if you know what you are doing you will never use it. I am not happy with using Chinese services to run this device and have disabled them. If this is a problem for you too, look for another device.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Good NAS Server - Storage

Bought a device and it crashed almost every night while the device was transferring data. It hung so bad I had to do a hard reset. After working with Terramaster, they realized the unit was defective and sent me a new one. Since I got the new one I haven't had any more problems. It was a problem at first, but the support was pretty decent.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far

5 stars for tech support

I was blown away by the Terramaster tech support team. They follow and send emails about my problem. And were to the last letter. You are here to support, take my word for it. As for the device itself, I had a problem with the installation, but it was solved with professional help. This device, TNAS as they like to call it, I use as a PLEX server to broadcast to my devices throughout my house and beyond. There are no problems with this device. 4K movie playback tends to buffer, but that's not…

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • old

. My NAS stops letting computers write to it after every few hundred gigabytes of disk writes. Some of the drives were noisy, but I've also been using 100% SSDs for many years, so I took out the drives and scanned them. At first SMART and dmesg (Linux command with kernel output) showed nothing. I scanned all the drives from other computers and reinserted them. FYI, you still need to do this before adding drives to a NAS. The longest and most thorough tests revealed no problems. At this point I…

Pros
  • . That's great.
Cons
