Great database engine for anyone involved or interested

As an Oracle DBA, I used to work with several different RDBMSs over the years, including Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, and others. But I really enjoy working in Trove. It makes me feel like I'm back at my Oracle 9i/SQL*Plus days! I especially appreciate the easy access to stored procedures via the web interface. The documentation is also very helpful. I've been able to solve some of my more complex problems by writing custom code rather than using the native features. There are so many things…

Pros
  • Easy integration into existing applications for data storage purposes without having any downtime or loss of functionality during upgrades; low cost compared against traditional DB solutions (e,.g., Pivotal Cloud Foundry); great API support from OCI drivers available directly within Java JDBC driver libraries as well through ORDS' RESTful APIs which make it extremely flexible

Great Solution For Centralized Storage

The ability to store data in one place, without having to worry about different servers or software configurations is awesome! We were able to use this service with ease because it was already integrated into our infrastructure. All of their APIs are easy enough that we didn't have any issues integrating them within our application design process. It's been very useful so far, but I would like more documentation available regarding what they offer through API calls versus database storage…

Pros
  • Easy integration
  • Easeful administration/management across multiple platforms.
  • Multi tenant support allows us many options while managing user accounts etc
Cons
  • Documentation does seem lacking sometimes
