Trustworthy Chlorine Test Strips

Based on our own experience, these test strips are easy to use and give accurate readings. The strips come in a convenient pack of 30 and are perfect for small-scale water testing. The only downside is that they only test for chlorine levels up to 0.5 ppm. Overall, these test strips are a reliable and cost-effective option for anyone in need of basic water testing.

Pros
  • Accurately measures chlorine levels in water
Cons
  • Dubious purchase for the elderly

that works great! in Laboratory Supplies and Consumables

Regarding comments from previous reviewers: This test works as intended. The chemistry is probably based on N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine (DPD), which reacts slowly with mono- and dichloroamines. The instructions for use indicate that it is relatively insensitive to chloramines. For experiments at home or at school, this works great!

Pros
  • ✔FULL SET: Pack of 30 individually wrapped test strips packaged in a pocket pouch with color chart
Cons
  • blunt pack

It is difficult to distinguish colors at low chlorine levels.

Low chlorine colors are very difficult to read. It might help if you use it for higher concentrations, but I've had trouble figuring out how much chlorine and chloramine is in my drinking water. I have readings, but my score is a fairly wide range of colors. A little disappointing. On the other hand, it was at least a cheap experiment and the color change showed that the vitamin C water filter I bought for the shower was at least doing something.

Pros
  • ✔ DETECTION LEVELS: Free chlorine and total chlorine 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 ppm. To determine chloramine, subtract free chlorine from total chlorine
