To be honest I don't use it as a backpack but I use it every day. Although I bought it to take my cat for a walk, he really just wants to be able to cool off outside. So we use it as a portable cat. Whenever he wants to go for a walk on the porch, he jumps into his backpack. I close it and take it out. He stays there for hours. When he's ready to come in he meows and we follow him and bring him in. For us it is absolutely worth the money!

Love it, used for our 10lbs. Labradoodle pup on a 4 hour AA flight, lots of space. She could curl up on the soft ground and still see, and her size meant she could sit up easily. IMHO this is a much better shape than sport models, much more comfortable for a pup. Although our pup was only 10 pounds, she wasn't small like an adult small breed dog, and the athletic types looked like I was stuffing her. a place to stretch out while sleeping in flight.

I bought this to best travel the world with my cat. When she was on my back, I could use both hands to carry things or control my children. I used to buy another cat carrier with a transparent hard shell on the front and multiple air holes on the bottom. This backpack was durable and well made, but I stopped using it because I felt it didn't let enough air through and I was afraid my cat would get too hot.
