Works for me: CB & Radio

The radio tape recorder came quickly. It works as advertised and is a good deal for the price. Easy to program with Chirp. Cruciate repeat is easy to set up and works well. So far so good - if anything changes I'll update my review. 73

not what it seems

Good. My rating speaks for itself. It would be a good rsdio but lacks proper software and areas are blocked. The unlock password that came with the radio is also incorrect. It would be better if these 2 areas were better.

Good Choice for First Dual Band Radio

Pretty good choice for a budget dual band radio. I had no problems programming with Chirp or the software that came with the radio. Combine that with a decent antenna and you can be on the air for less than $300. In addition, the detachable front panel gives you much more options for installation in a car or cottage. I've had this radio for a few months now, no problems. I also have a TH-9800 (quad band version) and have been using it for several years with no problems.

Pros

Great Radio - Terrible Programming Software

First I have to repeat another review that mentions how terrible the software experience was. It's absolutely true. Trying to figure out which one to even use for this model is also confusing as everything applies to the TYT 7800. However, once you get over it (and you eventually can if you've read and played around enough), you can just use the Chirp like you would any Baofeng radio. These are all simple things. I wish it had a digital noise-cancelling display, but that wasn't a deal breaker…

Pros
  • 3. TYT TH-7900 Mobile Car Radio, Detachable Faceplate with 4M Splitter Cable, Support 2 sets to meet your needs.
Cons
  • Some little things

I love this radio. Nothing but good things to say about it.

here it was stupid cheap - $156 even though it is since then it seems that he is not Obtanium. I think the normal price is closer to 200€. You can't get a better deal with a removable double face strap. The sound isn't as good as my Kenwood or Icom, but it's decent. The side-by-side dual control radio is a breath of fresh air. After that, you can't go back. I prefer to put my favorite station on the right and scan on the left. I've since moved this from my base station to my mobile device and…

Bought because it was $156 here, it's insanely cheap, although since then it appears to be unobtanium. I think the normal price is closer to 200€.
