Good Choice for First Dual Band Radio

Pretty good choice for a budget dual band radio. I had no problems programming with Chirp or the software that came with the radio. Combine that with a decent antenna and you can be on the air for less than $300. In addition, the detachable front panel gives you much more options for installation in a car or cottage. I've had this radio for a few months now, no problems. I also have a TH-9800 (quad band version) and have been using it for several years with no problems.

Pros
  • 1. TYT TH-7900 Dual Band Mobile Transceiver, Frequency Range: 144-148MHz/420-450MHz, Complies with FCC Rules Part 15B, FCC ID: PODTH-9800. Function and operation are the same as the TH-7800.
Cons
  • Not the best
