EFFORTLESS: you'll be amazed how easy it works. Simply place any size jar or other lid inside the V-shape design, twist, and voilaฬ€!. HIDDEN: saving valuable space in your kitchen. The best kitchen appliance I have.

The bottle opener is thin enough not to be seen when placed under a cupboard (unless you're leaning forward, of course). Very easy to install. All screws are included and none of them protruded into the case. The first jar I tried, a large jar of pickles, was so easy to open that I didn't realize it was already open until a drop of liquid landed on my finger. Definitely recommend this product!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Generally ok, but...

Defeat Jar lids: Kitchen & Dining

I am very thankful for the Grip Jar Opener! It only takes 1/4 turn to loosen the jar lids, which took me several minutes of hot water and effort to open. The glue is very good; It didn't fall off the bottom of the closet. I can't thank the folks at Grip Jar Opener for this incredible change in my zest for life. Summon everyone with weak hand power and get Grip Jar Opener. You'll be amazed!

Works great but beware of sharp edges

Easy to install, locks securely and makes even troublesome cans easy to open. My only complaint is that the metal teeth that hold the jar lid securely also cut into the lid just enough to lift tiny points of metal in the open lid. A shaky lid can be sharp enough to cause a small cut if not handled carefully. No matter how carefully I open the jar, I can't avoid these sharp edges forming.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Easily wrinkled

Easy to install and works well

My wife only makes full use of her left hand. We tried motorized can openers. They are expensive, difficult to use, bulky and difficult to store. Portable handles (like channel lock pliers) still require two hands. One to hold the pitcher and one to control the handle. The Grip Jar Opener is easy to install, discreet under the kitchen cabinet (I just used the double tape that came with the kit and still didn't need the screws that came with it), ready to use, inexpensive and works great. My son got this for me years ago and then we gave one to my mum and MIL - they are very easy to install and will open everything from honey encrusted jars to old nail polish. to old liter paint cans. Our house burned down last year and we'll be moving into a new one in a few weeks. I have already ordered and received my new one and one to give to a friend. That's great. It works. With my hands and wrists struggling with carpal tunnel and arthritis, I can't imagine a kitchen without it. Highlyโ€ฆ

Disappointed, hoping for advice

Yes, it comes with screws. Yes, it comes with tape to hold it in place while you tighten the screws. There is only one screw, the smallest. The other two screws, which are longer because the plastic is thicker in two places, CANNOT be screwed in, they just fall out. As a result, with just a sticky pad and the smallest screw, there is clearly not enough latch to open the can. And whoever asked, it might work if you're one-armed, but only if you have enough arm strength to hold a heavy can inโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

This is an absolutely amazing product. I have very painful hands which makes it difficult and sometimes impossible to open EVERYTHING. I rarely have anyone at home, so if I can't open an item, I can't use it. This gadget, which can be installed with three screws in less than 5 minutes, solves every problem. He opens big-necked bottles (giant pickle jars) and tiny bottles (like nail polish). I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has (or loves someone) arthritis or any otherโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not bad

Works fine for my 92 year old mother

but. I know the company can't cover all installs, but for those who don't have it on hand, it can be a disaster to install. The cabinet I installed it on was a very thin piece of wood to screw into. If I didn't know better I would install the screws through the bottom shelf of the cabinet and the screws would protrude into the bottom shelf of the cabinet. This could pose a safety hazard if someone tries to put something on the bottom shelf and cuts themselves on the protruding screws. Thisโ€ฆ
