The box that this thermometer came in had the lid ripped off but otherwise the thermometer looked like new. Notes on calibration with boiling water. The thermometer is very useful; It has a probe at the end of a long insulated cord so we can use it in the oven (or on the grill in the summer). Good for immediate reading; confusing when using the sensor

I actually got this thermometer for the instant reading feature and it works great in that regard. Used it to bake Easter ham this weekend. The readings seemed accurate, although I didn't run the recommended calibration test or tested it on another thermometer. It registers the temperature quickly and is easy to read.
