In the first week everything was great. After using the item several times, I couldn't open it and it broke! The temperature fluctuated up and down before the item fell apart. I will not buy it again, maybe another brand. I think I got what I paid for at $15.

I've used several others, this one beats them all. Quick reading from a very small diameter tip. Automatic on/off and convenient buttons that don't usually need to be pressed. I wouldn't trust the printed readiness chart on the back, you'll end up overcooking it I guess.

The quality surprised me for the price. I looked for a chip to go outside with a smoker but quickly found that it was cheap but no chip. Pleasantly surprised by the speed and accuracy. Withstands my triple price and is now my choice for smoking meat.

I like this for meat as well as water temp for brewing coffee and tea to a specific temperature. The auto shut off is useful and very reliable. I dropped mine on a tiled floor from quite a height last week and it still works, although I think I ripped out the battery and sometimes I have to press the battery cover to turn it on.

Great thermometer! As fast as specified (3-4 seconds) to get the temperature within a degree or two of the actual temperature. I downgraded it to 4 stars because the magnet isn't as strong as I had hoped - it often slips a few inches across the fridge. if you want it to stay where you put it. If you want it to measure temperature, buy it! Great for the price. If you *have* to keep it in the fridge or something, remember that it will stay there, but not exactly where you put it.

I bought 5 different meat thermometers to compare. That was the best. It is turned on and off by simply opening and closing the probe, which is very convenient. Magnets keep it conveniently on the fridge. The temperature measurement takes only 2-3 seconds. it can be easily calibrated. Fill blender with ice cubes and cold water. Handy for the home. I keep one outside at the grill and one inside. I tested the temperature next to another thermal pen and got almost identical results so they are accurate and consistent. It's not as fast (1 second) as the famous ones, dear ones. At the same time, it only takes about 2-3 seconds to determine the exact temperature. In reality maybe a lot less, but it's not "instantly". I don't think it matters much. Seems well built and like it will last.
