Excellent except for the adapter

They held up pretty well. the jaw eventually broke. I have compared them to others for accuracy and have always been satisfied. It's definitely easier to pay $20-$30 for them than $60-$70 for other brands. My new FP, on the other hand, seems indestructible. This is a good tool except for the adapter. it sucks. Where you connect the wire, it wears out too quickly.

  • Too long to wait

Does what it's designed to do

I'm an HVAC student and have used this clip extensively on my UEI meter for the past month. It didn't break when I first got it so the thermistor that came with my UEI meter wasn't set. After calibrating it works fine, displays the temperature within 1f so everyone says it's off at the temperature you should calibrate like any other thermistor.

Okay for $20 it does the job but it's an inexpensive pipe clamp

I bought this as an inexpensive tool in the meantime until I got my hands on a digital manifold with pipe clamps. It does the job, but doesn't always make good contact. The biggest problem is the weak cable and plug. The pins are easy to bend (yellow connector) and the K-type male adapter socket is not very resilient. After a few unwanted jerks in normal use, the contact loosens and no longer has firm contact with the pins of the clamping fork. It is recommended to connect the two forks…

Very inaccurate temperature reading.

I bought this for my small multimeter. I have a lease where I started doing HVAC maintenance myself. For the rest of my life I couldn't understand why the temperature on the suction side rose as I charged more refrigerant into the system. I finally decided to test the sensor that came with the multimeter and ended up using it to attach the original temperature sensor to the HVAC line to get accurate readings. It was at least 15 degrees. I really wanted and expected it to work. However, I just…

That does not work! Damaged goods!

Wrong temperature reading, mine shows about 20 degrees above the actual temperature. Bought to check the temperature on the refrigerant lines. I thought I was buying a quality product as it was small and the price was $27 how wrong I was! Very dissatisfied with my purchase! Unfortunately I bought the device when I was in ventilator class and didn't really use it until a few months after buying it, so I can't return it. The price is too high for a product that doesn't work. Save money and buy…

The adapter sucks.: Temperature and humidity

The clamp seems to work well but is very sensitive, you have to be very careful, too careful in positioning to get an accurate measurement. The Bannak-K adapter gives false readings all over the place, doesn't make a firm connection to the k-pins, the k-pin can move up to 50 degrees when inserted, as you can imagine, this changes the false readings drastically. The type-k adapter is a bit wrong all the time so you might think you're getting real readings unless you have 1, or in my case 5…

Reading at 20 degrees Fahrenheit is too high, false reading

I bought these because my previous thermocouple clamp started giving falsely high readings but worked fine for several years. This clamp from Klein Tools seemed like good value for the money and I respected the brand name of their power hand tools. However, this Klein Tools clamp gave readings that were essentially as bad as the old worn out clamp I just replaced - about 20F higher (or worse), while one would hope for less than 5F as the reading would otherwise is irrelevant for the operator…
