Review on 🌡️ Klein Tools 69140 K-Type Thermometer: Accurate HVAC Pipe Temperature Clamp, Measures -4 to +212°F by Greg Baker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The adapter sucks.: Temperature and humidity

The clamp seems to work well but is very sensitive, you have to be very careful, too careful in positioning to get an accurate measurement. The Bannak-K adapter gives false readings all over the place, doesn't make a firm connection to the k-pins, the k-pin can move up to 50 degrees when inserted, as you can imagine, this changes the false readings drastically. The type-k adapter is a bit wrong all the time so you might think you're getting real readings unless you have 1, or in my case 5, backups. For example you can read 1673F, 94F, 130F, 167F, 95F, 1432F, 94F etc (does not apply) and the same build with a working adapter and/or a working different build will read 102F. As long as the clamp makes good contact, it worked the most accurately in my class among Uei, Fluke, and 3rd party clamps, my K adapter was the worst, luckily a classmate found an unbranded adapter online for $1.40 and they work great.

Pros
  • Temperature and humidity
Cons
